See all the iconic historical sites from a whole new perspective and from the comfort of your own private car. This romantic and luxury experience will not only allow you to see the city's main sights at night, but your English-speaking driver will also introduce you to some of Lisbon's hidden gems that only locals know about. After the sun has set, your Welcome driver will pick you up directly at your accommodation and take you on a personalized journey through the city's highlights in the romantic setting of the night. Although your tour is completely customizable and points of interest can be added or removed, we suggest using the following itinerary as a basis. Avenida da Libertade: This boulevard, built in the 19th century in the style of the Champs Elysées in Paris, is the main avenue of the city. It runs north for one mile (1.6 km) and is more than 300 feet (90 m) wide. Today, it still retains a certain elegance, with fountains and coffee tables shaded by trees, as well as a cobblestone pavement decorated with abstract motifs. Alfama: Get to know the heart of Lisbon. One of the most colorful and lively districts in central Lisbon, Alfama is a charming labyrinth of narrow cobblestone streets and old houses that climb the steep hill from the Tagus estuary to the castle. Praça do Comércio: Rests at the feet of King José I and the imposing Gentil horse, a statue sculpted by Machado de Castro that so well illustrates the royal power and nobility of the Lusitanian race.Torre de Belem: The magnificent Torre de Belem stands proudly on the north bank of the Tagus. Built between 1514 and 1520, the tower offers a stunning view at night. Monument of Discoveries: Dedicated to the adventurers and explorers who helped establish Portugal as a superpower in the 14th century. The original Padrao dos Descobrimentos was built of wood and was the centerpiece of the 1940 world exhibition. April 25 Bridge: In 1929, the idea was advancing when a Portuguese engineer and businessman, António Bello requested a concession from the Government for a railway crossing between Lisbon and Montijo. Stretching along the Tagus River estuary in Lisbon is the Ponte 25 de Abril, the largest suspension bridge in Europe and was built in 1966. At the end of your 3-hour Lisbon sightseeing tour, continue enjoying the evening independently or your friendly welcome driver will drop you off at your hotel or apartment.
